Cognos Administrator

The Cognos Architect leads all aspects of the delivery of Distribution Sector Business Intelligence (BI) solution & related components: interfaces, conversions, HW/SW oversight. Understands business challenges & translates them into requirements/solutions. Provides Solution Performance (analysis/tuning) & works across business/technology teams to ensure alignment between business solution definition & systems architecture for the organization and experience designing, developing and implementing complex Cognos BI solutions.

  • Manage and support the Cognos reporting infrastructure
  • Manage upgrades to the Cognos reporting environment and roll-out new functionality to users
  • Manage and document report migration/promotion/maintenance standards and best practices
  • Maintain Cognos security and monitor user usage

Cloud Intelligence Security Architect

The Cloud Intelligence Security Architect is responsible for the security architectural design and related policies for the MicroStrategy Cloud Intelligence environment. The Architect will work with MicroStrategy technical staff to deploy security monitoring capabilities to ensure our customer's data and environments are maintained in a secure manner.

 

Required Skills:

  • Design of all Cloud Intelligence security infrastructure
  • Review and approve all proposed changes to the Cloud Intelligence security infrastructure
  • Implementation of monitoring environment(s) to provide real time visibility into the security status of the Cloud Intelligence platform
  • Development and deployment of policies, processes, and procedures to ensure the security of the Cloud Intelligence platform
  • Work with appropriate staff to develop incident response practices on Cloud Intelligence security issues

Software Tester (3 Position)

Candidate must qualify for Secret level security clearance (This is a DoD project). Candidate will be involved in testing enterprise solutions as part of a large software development team and work closely with software engineers to successfully test and assess ongoing development.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute software test plans, including component testing, integration testing, systems testing, regression testing, performance testing, and stress testing.
  • Maintain documentation of test results.
  • Provide training in creation of test cases for manual and automated testing.
  • Work with Project Managers and IV&V to create test schedules.
  • Monitor schedules and test resources to keep commitments, identifies risks and opportunities, and tracks effort estimates and actuals.
  • Participate in the design of the software to advise of common errors and high-risk areas, suggests designs that facilitate testing, and looks for opportunities to automate.
  • Work with QC Manager to evaluate and adopt tools such as automated testing and configuration management systems.

Business Objects Developer

Our client requires an experienced SAP Business Objects Analyst with deep technical expertise in the specifics of Business Objects, Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports, SQL Server, and background with DB2. This candidate should have 5-8 years of technical experience, with 5+ years of BO experience, and been involved in 2 or more Full Life cycle implementations of BO/SAP.

 

The candidate should be able to provide key technical expertise and guidance in all aspects of IR*s Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse (BI/DW) systems, including undertaking development work such as the analysis, design, building, and fielding of BI/DW (ranging from requirements determination to Universe design and report development/fielding), and also encompasses performing day-to-day systems administration of BI/DW systems such as troubleshooting user issues and system difficulties, along with fulfilling Service Level Agreements (SLA*s) for system uptime and performance.

The BO Analyst will also be involved in a global SAP implementation, and should have the background and experience in BI/DW with SAP, and must have actively participated in global roll-outs of SAP.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a hierarchical Security Model in both XI2 and XI3, and undertake formal reviews with business owners and reporting stakeholders.
  • Manage all needed SOX Audit corporate reporting via the use of BI reporting functionality and 360 View reporting tools.
  • Work cooperatively with other IT specialists, developers, analysts, DBA*s, ETL specialists, end users, and other resources as required.
  • Work with development and operations staff to determine data storage requirements, and assess and determine future needs for servers and data storage devices that will properly support the required performance levels of the reporting environment.
  • Perform as an individual contributor role, doing hands-on work to undertake the duties of the BO Analyst.
  • Participate in SAP ECC 6.0 global roll-out, and provide expertise and insights for the BI/DW implementation.
  • Ensure proper compliance of the IT environment to industry best practices and norms.
  • Interact with business users to understand business processes and gather requirements during SAP implementation.
  • Conduct Quality Assurance activities as required throughout the project.
  • Adhere to development methodology, standards and naming conventions and best practices.
  • Complete project related documentation (naming standards, technical specifications, test plans etc) during the different stages of the project as required.

 

Teradata Architect

Client’s seeking a physical architect with hands-on lead level experience implementing physical models, ETL and reports for a multi-subject Data Warehouse using the Inmon/3NF Approach. The resource will create and implement a physical model from a fully attributed logical model or directly from a source system or data feed using a normalized approach. Candidate should have the ability to assist ETL developers in loading the data and designing core services using efficient database algorithms utilizing SET SQL and ELT designs. Candidate should have experience creating Macroscope documents: Physical Data Model, architecture processes, Developer Principles and Standards and assist in the creation of ETL Source to target mapping, transformation rules.

 

Required Skills:

  • Experience with relational database design, implementation and/or data load experience on large database implementations
  • 4 years of lead level experience on Teradata systems in at least 2 functional roles (ETL developer, data architect, modeler, BI/SQL report coding) with the ability to generate complex DDL, stored procedures and tune complex SQL.
  • 5 years of Teradata experience required in the last 8 years (at least 4 Teradata V2R5 certifications, V2R5 master preferred, leading-edge implementations
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience coding SQL/DDL, including ETL code and query optimization).
  • High proficiency using Teradata tools (Visual Explain, DBQL, ANSI SQL, Multiload, SQL Assistant, PMON and Teradata Administrator), proficiency with data modeling tools (Erwin preferred).
